Located at 1073 Park Ave in Cranston, RI, Albertino's Pizza stands out as a beloved local gem serving up authentic Italian flavors with a Rhode Island twist. This vibrant pizza restaurant, bakery, and takeout spot is renowned for its hearty, generously topped pies and a menu that embraces classic Italian favorites with exceptional craftsmanship.
Albertino’s offers a variety of irresistible options, from mouthwatering pizzas to calzones, strombolis, and their famed pizza strips — a regional delicacy that effortlessly converts skeptics into loyal fans. The thin yet substantial crusts come adorned with a rich, savory sauce and a vibrant, melty cheese blend, all crowned by an abundance of fresh toppings like sausage, olives, mushrooms, and pepperoni. Beyond pizza, the red and white pizza strips have earned a near-cult status locally. Andrew Malmstrom eloquently sums up this experience, recommending their red pizza strips to anyone who’s ever questioned their charm. The sauce is rich and robust, a star ingredient that lingers pleasantly after each bite, while the crust offers a delightful crunch highlighted in Bruce Provencher’s praise for the perfectly textured crust of his pizza and party strips.
The atmosphere at Albertino’s is warm and inviting, perfectly suited for takeout or a quick bite. Though primarily a takeout establishment, the genuine hospitality from the owner—who often takes time to chat with customers—adds a personal touch that elevates the dining experience beyond just great food. This is a place where one can feel connected to a community through shared culinary passion.
Whether you’re a lifelong Rhode Islander craving a taste of home or a visitor eager to indulge in authentic regional Italian fare, Albertino's Pizza promises a satisfying and memorable meal. Their dedication to quality ingredients, generous portions, and heartfelt service makes every visit a savory celebration of Italian-American tradition.
We had a large cheese, sausage and olives. When I picked up the pie, I was surprised to discover that the box weighed a ton and the price tag was only $15. To say that they are generous with the toppings is an understatement! Delicious!
Although we have been Florida residents for 24 years we haven't lost the taste for RI food. One of our mandated stops when visiting RI is Albertino's for pizza and calzone. What a treat! Go hungry, you won't regret it.
Went in for a small shrooms and roni pie, which was plenty big. A little too much flop for NY-style but I don't think that was the point. They definitely don't skimp on the ingredients and it was delicious. Good prices too and they even have a senior discount. What's not to like? I'll have to be back for one of their stromboli's.
This is a takeout review. All food is eaten promptly in the vehicle. I had two types of party strips and a pepperoni pizza. The white stripes were good, kind of a pesto type taste to them. The red strips were very good, I really enjoyed the crust with a bit of crunch to it. The pizza itself was excellent. A very nice crust, great sauce, and a nice sauce to cheese ratio. The owner came out to talk to me, and he was a really nice guy also. On a scale from 0-10, I would rate this 9.1.
Updated 12/13/24: Sad to hear about the passing of Al. My sympathy to the family and friends. What a loss for the community. Food: I recommend their red pizza strips to anyone who has ever said "What's the fuss over pizza strips? I don't get it. ". I've personally brought some there myself and witnessed their quick conversion. Their red strips are heavy on a sauce that is a star in its own right but tasting it served on a soft yet chewy dough with a crispy undercrust is phenomenal experience. The white stripes are also good but I usually need a little salt to my taste. Also a huge fan of the generously filled spinach pies - when they are well seasoned. One of the last true RI bakeries. I appreciate when someone chooses do a few things but do them very well. Service: Small staff, typically 1 person prepping and 1 serving. Most times we go, the server is a quiet young woman with beautiful eyes, a friendly smile, and very pleasant. Atmosphere: I'm not really judging them on atmosphere it's more like n/a than a 1 star. It's just a counter service, not a restaurant. Although they do provide a couple of small tables if you prefer to sit and eat.
Tried Albertino's for the first time not knowing what to expect. Went with a small meatlovers. Was quoted 40 minutes during a Friday lunch and right on time. Grabbed the box and immediate 1st impression was that the box was heavy. Popped it open and sure enough, generous portion of toppings stacked thick. Took a bite of the piping hot lava and was greeted with a sweet inviting sauce and a mouthful of sausage. Cheese was on last and kept the toppings in place. Surprisingly, not a lot of flop. Crust was very flavorful and had a good crunch. Reminds me of a Greek style or Sicilian style pizza. Google 4, and a 6.8 out of 10.
This was my first time here after seeing reviews on a FB page. It’s a hole in the wall small place but I thought the pizza was good. I ordered a large cheese 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 half meatball it was only $15. I loved the crispy edges. I will go there again if I am in the neighborhood. They also have spinach pies, calzones, and pizza strips that you can just walk in and buy.
